After starting my professional career in 1993 being a SW engineer for cordless DECT phones some years (in those days when cordless phones were big and ugly), I worked for 10 years in different fields of IT-research:
- GIS - Geographic Information Systems,
- Mobile Systems & Services,
- Hypervideo / Mobile Media,
- Mobile Knowledge Management.
From 2006 onwards my work comprised research management for industrial, applied research mainly in the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) domain and feasible approaches to Innovation Management in SMEs (Small and Medium-sized Enterprises):
In managing larger projects I learned a lot about organisational and social aspects of using in particular mobile IT. I was impressed how modern communication technology changes our lives and the way we define ourselves. I started to be as well interested in the social and philosophical impacts of modern IT and telecommunication technologies.
Since 2016 my profession took a turn towards a fascinating research field with enormous potential:
- Cognitive Science -> Here is more to come !
